Leila Motaei teaches piano performance, improvisation and composition to children and adults of all ages in a variety of styles from classical to pop to blues. She concentrates on creating a repertoire with her students that's reflective of their personal taste, as well as different approaches to studying technique and theory that are fitted to each individual's learning style.
Located in San Francisco, she is available to come directly to your home anywhere in San Francisco to teach if you have a piano or keyboard available. You can also come to her home, which is located in the Inner Sunset, a half a block from the L Taraval Line, for lessons, where she has a charming 100-year-old upright piano ready for her students.
Leila holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory/Composition with an emphasis in Piano Performance from the University of California Davis. She has studied with John McCarthy & Dr. Victoria Neve. She has been teaching, writing, recording and performing professionally for more than 10 years.
She is a current member of the Music Teacher's Association of California, was a teacher at the Blue Bear School of Music in San Francisco for several years, in addition to having a full private studio. Her students have gone on to study at SOTA and The San Francisco Conservatory of Music as well as participate in composition master classes. She is also acquiring her Orff Schulwerk Pedagogy Certification.
